We were looking for a flooring installer for a kitchen project. We had already purchased the flooring materials and needed someone to handle the installation. FCI Monterey Bay was one of the contractors that came through an Angie’s List inquiry, so we scheduled an appointment. Dan, the owner, came out as planned. During the visit, he recommended alternative materials that he felt would be better suited for our project. We selected three options, and he took all the necessary measurements. He told us he would provide an estimate that evening, or at the latest, the following day, noting that he couldn’t prepare it on the spot because he had forgotten his estimating device. That was six weeks ago. We still have their samples, they have our contact information, and we haven’t heard a word. Very disappointing experience—poor customer service. UPDATE: 4/15- We’ve resolved the communication issue and changed our star rating. Dan visited our project with samples available based on our pattern and color preferences, and he answered all of our questions. We decided to have his company do the installation. We chose them for their honesty about what we were planning initially, and how that might wear. There was no upselling, he was ready to do the work required using the flooring material we purchased, and when we compared his samples with what we had planned at first we could see that what we had was an inferior product. We’ve now signed a contract, made the deposit, and looking forward to the finished project. Very happy with our meeting and Floor Coverings International Monterey Bay.

Dan Maschmeier did a great job getting his installation crew out promptly to install the carpet in my MB and home office. Since I had construction going on at my house I had to cancel installation several times which put a strain on their install dept. But he was kind enough to work on my time line. And when his crew came out to install, they were very nice and did a great job in a timely manner. We love the carpet and the price was right. I highly recommend FCI MB and would use their services again in a heartbeat!👍😀

The house had carpet when I bought it but removing it and having the beautiful hardwood floors refurbished is a milestone for me, and I appreciate that they worked with me on the job. Dan brought the baseboard moldings by and I was able to paint them while the floors were being worked on, and David cut and installed them and it's the finishing touch for sure.
